United Electric Controls, Watertown, MA, is now offering new ammonia- and hydrocarbons-sensor-head options for its line of Vanguard WirelessHART gas detectors.
Wireless gas detection is said to reduce compliance costs, as well as improve safety by eliminating the need for wiring and terminations, thus reducing installation costs by as much as 90%, while enabling greater coverage density. According to the company, the Vanguard units reduce costs and improve safety further because they can run on a single battery for five years or longer.
Sensor heads for NH3 are available immediately, as are heads for CH4, CO, and H2S. Heads for hydrocarbons gases will be available in January of 2020.
