It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we find ourselves reporting the recent passing of Heinz Bloch, our fellow editor and long-time mentor to us and countless others throughout industry.
To paraphrase the author bio at the end of his many contributions for The RAM Review, Heinz’s professional career included assignments as Exxon Chemical’s Regional Machinery Specialist for the United States. A recognized subject-matter-expert on plant equipment and failure avoidance, he was the author of numerous books (24), and continued to consult in industry and present at technical conferences around the world until relatively recently.
Heinz died in Texas, on Aug. 20, 2022, due to complications of cancer. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family.
He was a wonderful friend. His wisdom (and wit) will be sorely missed by those who knew, loved, and learned from him
